The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry and Talent Corporation Malaysia Bhd will host the country’s first job fair aimed at those looking for career opportunities with employers that have flexible work arrangements and childcare support facilities.
The flexFair, to be held on July 8 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, will bring together more than 15 employers who offer career opportunities that enable employees to better balance their work and family commitments.
Cognisant of the challenge that employees face in having to juggle personal and professional responsibilities, flexFair is targeted to employees who have left the workforce and looking to return, as well as those looking for greater work-life balance.
FlexFair will see the participation of 18 employers — Accenture, Air Asia X, CareerExcell, Convergys, Dell, Ernst & Young, HEARTS, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Intel, Kelly OCG, Manpower, McDonald’s, PwC, QSR Brands, Scope International, Securities Commission Malaysia and Telekom Malaysia.
Supported by myStarjob, flexFair transpires to support the Government’s initiative in attracting and retaining more qualified women in the workforce.
The 10th Malaysia Plan aims to increase women’s labour participation to 55% in 2015, within the broader framework of labour market reform.
Harnessing its female talent in larger numbers could conceivably unfetter Malaysia’s economic potential and facilitate its journey to high-developed status.
FlexFair is open to the public from noon to 5.30pm. Admission is free.
