Finance Shared Services and Outsourcing coffee chat with experts

Shares services and outsourcing (SSO) industry is based on the consolidation of business operations that are used by multiple parts of the same organisation, into a central unit whose services are either shared within the organisation, or outsourced to third party companies.

To help move this industry up the value chain, Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) will be holding its Finance Shared Services and Outsourcing (SSO) Coffee Chat with Experts which will be focusing on the finance shared services industry.

The event will be held on the 3rd of December 2014 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at The Loaf in Nu Central.

Participants, who are looking to make shared services their career destination, will get to imbibe valuable knowledge of the industry through the sharing of experiences from our guest speakers, Nyon Kam Yew, general manager of Shell Business Operations KL; Christophe Michel, head of SWIFT Kuala Lumpur Corporate Services Centre as well as Patricia Foong, record-to-report director, BP Business Service Centre Asia.

Nyon Kam Yew Nyon Kam Yew

Equipped with more than 10 years of experience, Nyon Kam Yew first joined Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn. Bhd in 1992 after graduating with an honours degree in economics from Universiti Utara Malaysia, and has worked for Shell ever since. He has apt knowledge of the SSO industry through his experience in Shell Business Operations KL.

Christophe Michel Christophe Michel

Christophe Michel, a graduate from the Institut Superieur De Gestion, started out his career at KPMG as a senior auditor and IT consultant, and then joined SWIFT in Belgium, in 2009 as a group financial controller. With 23 years of experience in operations and finance controlling, Christophe is heading the SWIFT Kuala Lumpur Corporate Services Centre, which offers a wide range of services such as IT development, qualification testing, integration, support, operations and finance functions.

Patricia Foong Patricia Foong

Our third speaker, Patricia Foong, joined BP as the financial accountant in the year 1994 and today, as the record-to-report director of BP Business Service Centre Asia, she holds the responsibility of building the capability and standards, ensuring service delivery excellence, and providing strategic direction for Business Service Centre Asia R2R Tower.
