In light of the success of the Sector Focused Career Fair (SFCF) series, Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp) brought its second last SFCF of the year to Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Labuan International Campus (UMSKAL).
The SFCF – this time focusing on business, finance, creative content and shared services and outsourcing – aims to educate students on the available career paths in Malaysia and connect them face to face with prospective employers from the country’s priority economic sectors.
The Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC), being a partner of the SFCF series, has over the years strategised and formulated various initiatives, among them the MSC Malaysia’s SSO Career of Choice and ICT as a Career of Choice campaigns which targets students pursuing tertiary education, fresh graduates and young professionals in the bid to address the nation’s demand for a knowledgeable and skilled workforce.
“MDeC acts as a bridge between the Malaysian government and the industry to facilitate growth of rapidly growing industries such as shared services and outsourcing sector.
"Hence, we will continue to invest in building closer synergy and collaboration with TalentCorp and industry players who are essential partners to help us build growth and vibrancy for Malaysia’s shared services and outsourcing ecosystem,” said MDec vice-president of shared services and outsourcing Michael Warren.
TalentCorp CEO Johan Mahmood Merican said that the SFCF provides an opportunity for students and participants to find out what employers lookout for in their potential hires, and for them to be more aware of the high-income opportunities in Malaysia.
Admission to SFCF UMSKAL is free, with activities including the Career Talk and Coffee Talk which further allow students to engage and interact with industry leaders and participating employers.
