Portal connects Malaysians to jobs at home

SYDNEY: Malaysians living and working overseas can now look for job openings in Malaysia through the Global Malaysians job portal.

Global Malaysians is a collaboration between Talent Corporation Malaysia Bhd (Talent Corp) and myStarjob.com, an online recruitment portal by Star Publications (M) Bhd.

It is created to connect Malaysian professionals working overseas with leading Malaysian employers keen to tap on Malaysians with international experience and expertise.

The portal hosts job opportunities by large organisations and multi-national companies that specifically cater to Malaysians applying for local opportunities from abroad. It also highlights employers who offer relocation packages.

At launch, the portal already lists more than 200 mid to senior professional positions from over 40 leading employers covering key sectors of the economy such as OSRAM, Shell, IBM, BASF Petronas Chemicals, KPMG, Hong Leong Bank and Gamuda.

The Star head of products (digital) Serm Teck Choon said the company was proud to be in partnership with Talent Corp to help facilitate the return of Malaysian talent to the nation.

“Many Malaysians abroad are interested in returning to contribute. At the same time, there are leading employers in critical need of talent to support their growth plans. By supplying the specific talent that these companies need, we help them create higher value jobs which in turn benefits the entire economy,” said TalentCorp CEO Johan Mahmood Merican.

The launch of the job portal was held in conjunction with the Graduan-Masca Australia Recruit-ment Drive 2014, where Talent Corp officials met with Malaysian professionals working in Australia.
