Maybank GO Ahead Challenge 2014

Maybank GO Ahead Challenge 2014 (MGAC), an exciting international business case competition organised by Maybank, is back in its third season after two successful years since its launch in 2012.

Targeted at university students from all around Malaysia, ASEAN and across the globe, the Challenge aims to stretch its participants’ potential and push them to their limits with cash prizes worth USD$72,000 (RM234,600).

The Challenge has attracted participants from Kyrgyzstan to India, Pakistan to Mongolia, and Tanzania to Bangladesh. Participants also hail from the entire ASEAN community, China, Hong Kong and many more.

MGAC 2014, compared to other business case competitions, is unique. Instead of the usual case-by-case scenario, it focuses on these four aspects:

• Testing participants in multiple disciplines of education instead of focusing on one

• Working as a team with strangers at a short period of time to achieve a stretched target

• Participating in corporate responsibility initiatives

• Offering a fast pass for the finalists with Maybank’s Graduate Entry Level programme

MGAC is one of the platforms used by Maybank to recruit talents for its sustained performance and ambitious growth. It is shown when they invested a total of RM118.87 million in learning and development last year.

According to Maybank group chief human capital officer Puan Nora AbdManaf, 85% of the graduated finalists end up joining the group, which goes to prove that Maybank’s attractiveness as the first employer of choice among top graduates around the globe.
