Talent Corporation Malaysia (TalentCorp) launched its HR Network, recently, in an effort to address the talent needs of leading employers driving Malaysia’s economic transformation.
The HR Network, which was launched by minister in the Prime Minister’s Department and CEO of PEMANDU Datuk Sri Idris Jala, was created as a way for TalentCorp to foster a closer collaboration between leading employers and the government to raise the bar of the human resource profession in Malaysia.
The Network focuses on four areas important to the national talent agenda: diversity and inclusiveness, human resource capability, leadership development and graduate employability.
“The establishment of the TalentCorp HR Network will further strengthen the human resource capability if the workplace, which is key to build a strong workforce to push Malaysia’s economy forward and support the National Transformation Programmes.
“Through this network, leading employers in industries driving Malaysia’s economic transformation can share their best human resource practices and insight, and identify collaborative platforms to develop top talent and ensure the industry-readiness of our graduates,” said Idris during the event.
Human resource certification programmes
Along with the launch of the HR Network, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was exchanged between TalentCorp and four local training providers of HR Certification programmes, in an effort to raise the bar of the human resource industry here in Malaysia.
The four local training providers are K-Pintar Sdn Bhd for the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI); SMR Group for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD); Malaysia Institute of Human Resource Management (MIHRM);and Kelly Outsourcing & Consulting Group (KellyOCG) for the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).
Furthermore, as an incentive to up the standards of human resource professionalism to international benchmarks, TalentCorp is offering to co-fund 50 percent of the programme fee, with the remaining being paid by the respective employers.
TalentCorp CEO Johan Mahmood Merican said, “Employers should invest in developing their human resource practitioners to ensure that our human capital management is benchmarked to international best practices and in the hands of professionally certified practitioners.
“This is in line with the New Economic Model Strategic Reform Initiative to strengthen the human resource standards and certification initiative, which is spearheaded by the Human Resources Development Fund.”
