myStarjob.com Fair 2017; a humble beginning

Last week, myStarjob.com Fair 2017 was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Hall 1.

The ambitious career fair was a first for myStarjob.com, who spent considerable time and resources in their debut. With 49 exhibitors and over 7000 attendees packed into the hall, it was a modest yet fulfilling event for employer and jobseeker alike, who were able to meet each other face to face in more personal settings.

With employers ranging from developers to tech companies at the forefront of digital solutions, and everything in between, jobseekers had plenty of choice when it came to the industries they were interested in.

Jobseekers had several activities to keep themselves occupied at the fair. Those wishing to make an impression right there and then could use the interview zones to know potential employers better. For those wishing to listen to industry experts, talks were available for all attendees to gain insights to the job market with topics on how to succeed in interviews, as well as managing your performance, among many others.

As for those unsure of what they wanted to do, myStarjob.com's booth offered their jobgraphy test, a personality test of sorts that helps candidates realise what skills they may be proficient in. This is a useful indicator to help jobseekers do something they have a knack for, instead of blindly going in to careers they may have no interest in.

A core belief of myStarjob.com, and their very motto, has been "Do What You Love". As myStarjob.com product manager Yussof Aziz says, "I have always believed in the famous saying, 'Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.' People should do what they love because passion won’t exist for a job they never liked in the first place. Period."

This has been a driving force behind his direction in leading the team, and a guide for them when preparing for the fair.

myStarjob.com Fair 2017 was also held in conjunction with StarProperty Fair 2017, and visitors could take some time to visit the neighbouring fair at Hall 2.

For those who missed out on this fair, myStarjob.com has got you covered. Their next career fair will be held next year, once again at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, on 17-18, November 2018, Halls 3-5. With more halls, more employers and more activities in line, those still looking for their dream jobs can look forward to finding them at myStarjob.com Fair 2018.
